DIFFICULTIES I WORK WITH

Some of the difficulties I can help with include:

  • Withdrawal, low mood and depression
  • Anxiety difficulties including worry, social anxiety and generalised anxiety
  • Stress
  • Panic attacks
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Feelings of emptiness, shame and hopelessness
  • Low self-esteem and lack of confidence
  • Isolation and loneliness
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Attachment difficulties
  • Trauma (including Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder)
  • Challenging behaviour including anger management
  • Adjusting to change (i.e., separation, divorce, pregnancy, motherhood, new siblings, moving home or school)
  • School-related difficulties including school refusal, exam-related stress, perfectionism and bullying
  • Issues around motivation
  • Loss and bereavement
  • Challenges and stress experienced by managers and leaders

These are just some of the difficulties that you or your child might be experiencing.  You may notice a combination of these or other struggles, which can feel confusing and overwhelming as it often feels difficult to know where to start.  This is very normal, and my aim – through the assessment process – is to reduce such feelings by developing understanding of what is going on and why, and find hope for change in thinking about how psychological therapy can help.
